Mike OvermanDirector of Event Facilities
Mike has worked for Magnolia ISD since 2002 and has more than 18 years of experience as a licensed athletic trainer. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. With a keen eye for detail along with his experience working behind the scenes ensuring events operate smoothly is what has made his transition to the Director of Event Facilities position an easy one. His passion for coordinating activities, dedicated work ethic, and attention to detail reinforces the Magnolia Event Center exceptional experience vision.

Ginny HernandezEvent Center Site Manager
Ginny has been a part of the MISD team since 2021 and, in 2022, was named the Event Center Site Manager. She oversees operations and client communications, a role that perfectly aligns with her exceptional organizational skills and commitment to excellence. Before joining MISD, Ginny worked as a registered ABA technician working one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum. She moved into the office administrator role, where she ran the day-to-day operations for the therapists and clients. Ginny thrives on collaborating with both the district and the community to ensure that each event is executed seamlessly, leaving a positive and lasting impression.

Armando GarciaExecutive Chef
Armando has been in the food industry for over 30 years and has always loved the culinary arts, a talent he inherited from his father. Starting his apprenticeship under Executive Chef Tom Palmer in the 1990s, Armando managed the deli operations for the Rice Epicurean Markets, a high-end grocery store. Armando served as executive chef for the Houston ISD Administrative Building for eight years, preparing meals for school board members and its administration team. Armando joined the Magnolia ISD family in 2021 as sous chef. Recently promoted to executive chef, he is excited and thrilled to bring a new look and taste to the Magnolia Event Center and Magnolia ISD.
